Problems with location of Gas Flu

Postby doreilly » Fri Apr 23, 2010 1:40 pm

Hi All,

Got my gas boiler serviced back the beginning of February (through the contact given by KPM - did a great job) and he pointed out that the location of the flu is not far enough away from the boiler. He said if Bord Gais had done the service they would have turned off our boiler. So the service failed on 2 out of the 3 checks.

I've been ringing Larry Fay Heating for the last 3 months and it's a joke at this stage. They won't return my calls.

Just wondering if anybody else had a similar issue?

It's looking like a phone call to a solicitor at this stage.

Hi there,
Why not contact Bord Gais and ask them? If they are your supplier they would know.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I was going to contact Bord Gais but don't want them turning off my boiler.

Yes but if its dangerous then you would want the place to be safe? It may just mean that your flu has to be lengthened.

The flu is the part that extends out of your wall and you can normally hear them when your gas is on.

Going to send the company who installed my boiler a registered letter saying if they don't contact me within 7 days they will be hearing from my solicitor.

I'm 3 months waiting to speak to the person I need to. He is never available, always out of office and never returns my calls......funny that!

Only reason I posted this is to make people aware really if they are getting their boiler serviced and this problem is highlighted to them.
