Parked Trucks at Roundabout

Postby doreilly » Fri Feb 19, 2010 11:41 am

Hi All,

Does anyone else agree the 2 parked trucks look terrible?

I have seen the guys who drive them in the evenings going through the small door into St Samsons so they don't even live in Belmayne. Is there anything we can do?

Cheers :)

I agree it doesn't look great but there must not be anywhere to park in their estate and they have to park somewhere. Its not doing any harm at the moment and I think that it won't be there always and you'll be eventually able to drive through samson this way.

It is somebodies work and they have to park somewhere.

If there is space in samson they shouldnt' be parking in Belmayne either.

On the opposie side of this door/hoarding (in St Samsons) there is ample space for those trucks. Maybe the residents in St Samsons were not happy and that is why they are over our side?

Personally I think its because we are closer to the Malahide Rd (easier for them to get in/out)

I think you are right it is easier to get in and out and that is why they are parking there. As far as I can remember it is against management rules to allow trucks that size to park in either estates. There was some trucks being parked on belmayne avenue and residents complained and the trucks were removed. I do agree they are an eyesore.

This has been brought to the attention of KPM on a number of occassions. They havent done anything about it. Commercial vehicles are not allowed to park in a residential area and it is in the leases everyone signed. Personally I dont think HGVs should be parked there, the roads arent made for them and theres enough potholes as it is.

There are plenty of lorry parks set up around Dublin in order to facilitate commercial trucks its just plain old lazyness. No a roundabout is no place for them even a half finish one. Its no excuse there NOT ALLOWED!!! None of us are allowed to break the rules and we own our places so why should one be charitable to someone who is flouting the rules? IF its their work they know the rules...

Does Anyone know or raised the issue of opening the roads between St Sampson and Belmayne at the roundabout? The roads are completed so I don't know why it is so closed off.

Hi
Just to clarify a couple of things. The green truck does belong to resident of St Samson's. He was clamped so many times in St Samson's that he moved to where he is now. Don't ask me why he brings his truck home - you will have to ask him directly.
Yes, trucks or commercial vehicles of ANY variety are banned in the estates according to the lease. This actually applies to jeeps ( as commercials) and things like transit vans.

The road between Belmayne and Samson's is all part of the overall plan for the roads from Belmaybe/Mayne/ Balgriffin and bypass around Darndale/Kinsealy and down to airport.
Can't see anything happening on it in the short term.
