HI
I'm not removing the post BUT...

Just to let you know that all Satellite Dishes are banned from Both Belmayne and St Samson's
Both estates are wired ( outside your unit) for Sky and there are a small number of dishes erected by Sky in the two estates.
If you wish to get Sky then please call Sky customer service as normal and tell them Sky has wired your estate - they will know what to do.

No other satellites will be allowed and for those people wishing to get anything other than UPC or Sky or Magnet then, sorry, you are out of luck

All other satellites are in breach of the lease document.
I worked my way up from nothing to a state of extreme poverty

Hi Tom f

Can you explain why there is so many sky dishes mounted on the front of houses in Belmayne. I dont have a major problem with them but they are there even after there was cables ran on the front facade of peoples property with no permission from the homeowners to accomadate a comunial dish I think my lease says i can errect a dish of reasonable size once it is not mounted on the front facade or the chimney stack but i would have to double check.

Hi
Sorry for late reply -- work etc....

First of all, I'm not a Belmayne resident so, what I say can only be general.

Bottom line, sat dishes are just banned in Belmayne / St Samson's . If there are sat dishes up then it is the Management Company responsibility to write to residents; ask them to take them down; and forcefully remove them, if needed.

There are a number of issues.
First of all, they are banned in the lease.
Secondly, any sat dish on roof or front of house needs planning permission.
Thirdly, look where the sat dishes are mounted. Outside walls on apartments/duplexes are not the property of the owner of the unit. They are in common ownership. Therefore, there is no way anyone is allowed to stick anything ; alter;paint or do anything with one of those common walls.

Hope this helps
Tom

As far as I know, they are allowed on the back of houses and this was clarified a few years ago.
They are not allowed on the front of any building.

I presume now that the estate is wired that there is no need for any more to go up.

Lenny

Please check your lease

Sat dishes are not allowed in Belmayne

There is a communal Sky system installed - wire outside of each unit.

Sky will come and connect you without ANY need for Sat dish.

I had mine installed before the communal cable. (I'm not with them anymore so I've taken it down since)

From my understanding at the time the rule applied to apartments and duplex units but not the rear of houses. My copy of the house rules (which are different to apartment and duplex rules) confirmed this.

Doesn't matter anymore since the communal cabling came in, as the dishes are horrible and you'd need your head examined to want one instead of hooking up to the communal line.

Bit off topic but can you get HD and multiroom from the cable?

If you're talking about the communal sky cable, the answer is Yes. I receive the HD channels on my side.
