Irish BB, Digiweb wireless,Clearwire,Esat, Smart availabilty

Just called all these companies to check for availabilty.

Clearwire and Digiweb wireless are not available.

Irish Broadband's Ripwave product (approx €20 per month) is not available but their Breeze product (approx €35 per month) is available - although they have to install an antenna on your house which I think is free.

However at that price you could get a landline aswell from the like of Esat. Esat is available but Smart Telecom is not. Unfortunately of course you still need to pay the phone line installation fee for this :(

Anyone tried any other companies?

Magnet have installed Fibre optic lines throughout the estate you could get one of thier packages.

I wouldn't go for IBB anybody I know who got it has had nothing but complaints about it.

I will be getting the Magnet entertainment package when we move in,
This will do the Phone, TV and give you a 8 Meg Contention free line which compared to my current BT for phone and Broadband, NTL for TV; will work out allot cheaper.

Look on boards.ie for other opinions on all the service providers:

At the time Magnet was not an option for the reasons detailed in this thread: http://balgriffin.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=9

I agree Irish BB's service was certainly very poor in the past! (I only say "in the past" because it's been over a year since I last used them and thankfully am not with them anymore).

Although people have advised against Magnet as a second TV option its great and for the price they are offering us its great. The are offering 2 months free and then the next 10 months at 30 euro that covers BB, TV and the phone line....So I couldn't do better....

i only got the ntl installed there last week and have the digital ntl package plus broadband, hence i'm emailing at 2.30 in the morning. ntl have a offer at the moment €9.99 per month for the first six months plus an extra 5 euro for internet and then €50 ish after that, works out quite well when you work out the yearly rate

Got it too - though NTL has not improved - image freezing and gathering data delays!!!! The broadband is good though apart the ability to check work email at home! Although I did not realise I was paying more €5? I think we are paying 9.99 only!
